  • Corn salsa optional, for a fresh side

  • Serving platter

Method

Stepwise Method: Air Fried Salmon
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, ground ginger, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in the bowl with the marinade. Gently coat each fillet thoroughly, ensuring the skin remains on. Let the salmon marinate for at least 15-30 minutes to allow the flavors to absorb.
  3. While the salmon is marinating, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This ensures a nice crisp on the outside of the salmon.
  4. After marinating, lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  5. Cook the salmon in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. There is no need to flip the salmon; it will cook evenly on both sides.
  6. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and has reached an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). If needed, allow it to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer. Squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice over the top and garnish with parsley or chives if desired. Pair it with avocado crema, corn salsa, pineapple salsa, or mango salsa for a fresh and vibrant meal.

Notes

  • Check for doneness early to avoid overcooking.
  • Coat the air fryer basket well to prevent sticking.
  • Cook in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking.
