Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Jasmine rice high-quality
  • 3 cups water for cooking
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce adds savory kick
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil for nutty flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt enhances taste
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fork
  • Chopping board and knife
  • Lid for the saucepan

Method

  1. Begin by rinsing the Jasmine rice under cold water in a fine mesh strainer until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed Jasmine rice, water, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, and kosher salt. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, watching carefully to prevent boiling over.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a lid. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  5. After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for another 10 minutes.
  6. Finally, use a fork to fluff the rice gently and stir in the sliced green onions. Your Asian Rice is now ready to be served!
