Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat and Prepare - Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the bars once baked.
- Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients - In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed banana and milk of your choice. Use a fork to mix them until smooth. Then add the peanut or almond butter, stirring until well incorporated.
- Step 3: Incorporate Dry Ingredients - Next, add the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The batter should be thick and creamy.
- Step 4: Add Chocolate Chips - Gently fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter. If you want extra chocolatey bars, feel free to add more chips on top.
- Step 5: Bake - Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Step 6: Cool and Slice - Once baked, remove the bars from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Carefully transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week.
- These bars freeze well; wrap individually and store for up to 3 months.
