Ingredients

For the Meatballs:
  • 50-60 pieces frozen meatballs store-bought or homemade
For the Sauce:
  • 14 ounces whole cranberry sauce
  • 12 ounces cocktail sauce or homemade
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • Green onion finely chopped for garnish

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Slow cooker or oven-safe dish
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Chopping board and knife

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Meatballs. If you’re using frozen meatballs, there’s no need to thaw them! Simply take your frozen meatballs out of the package and set them aside.
  2. Step 2: Mix the Sauce. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole cranberry sauce, cocktail sauce, light brown sugar, water, and BBQ sauce. Stir until everything is well mixed and the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Combine Meatballs and Sauce. Place the frozen meatballs into your slow cooker or oven-safe dish. Pour the sauce mixture over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated. If using a slow cooker, set it on low for 4-6 hours. For oven baking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until heated through.
  4. Step 4: Garnish and Serve. Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the heat and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with finely chopped green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Feel free to use lean ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
  • Consider making your own cocktail sauce to control sugar levels.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
