Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon dried chamomile flowers or two bags of chamomile tea
  • 8 ounces oat milk or milk of choice
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey to taste + more for drizzling on top
  • 1 pinch ground cardamom for sprinkling

Equipment

  • Small pot
  • Fine-Mesh Strainer
  • Milk frother or whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cup or mug

Method

  1. In a small pot, bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add 1 tablespoon of dried chamomile flowers or two bags of chamomile tea. Allow it to steep for about 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
  2. After steeping, use a fine mesh strainer to strain the chamomile flowers or tea bags from the water. You should be left with a fragrant chamomile infusion.
  3. In the same pot, add 8 ounces of oat milk to the chamomile infusion. Heat gently over low to medium heat, stirring occasionally, until warm but not boiling.
  4. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey to the mixture, adjusting to your taste preferences. Stir well to ensure the honey is fully dissolved.
  5. If you have a milk frother, froth the oat milk mixture until it’s light and creamy. If you don’t have a frother, you can use a whisk to vigorously whisk the milk until frothy.
  6. Pour the chamomile latte into your favorite mug. For an extra touch, drizzle a little honey on top and sprinkle a pinch of ground cardamom for a warm, aromatic finish.

Notes

  • For a more intense chamomile flavor, steep the flowers or tea bags for a few extra minutes.
  • Keep your oat milk at room temperature before frothing for better results.
  • If you prefer a thicker latte, use a barista-style oat milk known for its frothing capabilities.
