Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar adjust to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream additional for consistency
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons powdered sugar for sweetening additional cream

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Sifter

Method
 

  1. Chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Sift together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  3. In a chilled mixing bowl, pour in the heavy cream and start whipping on medium speed.
  4. Once the cream thickens, gradually add the sifted cocoa powder and powdered sugar mixture.
  5. Increase the speed to high and whip until soft peaks form.
  6. If needed, fold in additional heavy cream for consistency or more powdered sugar for sweetness.
  7. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for later use.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • For a mocha twist, add a teaspoon of espresso powder.
  • Consider using a chilled bowl for better whipping results.
