Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (we used Enjoy Life brand)
  • 1 cup canned coconut milk (our favorite brand is Native Forest)
  • 1/4 cup coconut palm sugar (optional) or raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage Jar

Method

  1. Start by measuring out all your ingredients. Ensure you have everything ready for a smooth cooking process.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the 2 cups of chocolate chips and 1 cup of canned coconut milk.
  3. Place the saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Once melted, stir in the 1/4 cup of coconut palm sugar or raw honey. Keep stirring until fully dissolved and incorporated.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract for an added layer of flavor.
  6. Allow the hot fudge to cool slightly before transferring it to a storage jar. This allows it to thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • This hot fudge thickens as it cools, so don’t worry if it seems a bit runny when it’s hot.
  • For a thicker sauce, reduce the amount of coconut milk slightly.
  • Feel free to double the recipe if you’re serving a crowd or want to keep some on hand for later use.
  • This Clean Eating Hot Fudge can also be enjoyed warm or cold, depending on your preference.
