  • 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce The base for our casserole.
  • 1 cup salsa Choose mild, medium, or hot based on preference.
  • 1 15 oz. can Great Northern Beans drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese The melty topping we all love!
  • to taste crushed corn chips For that satisfying crunch on top.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Drain excess fat, then add salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, and chili powder. Stir well and let bloom for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Pour in tomato sauce and salsa, stirring to combine. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Stir in the drained Great Northern Beans gently.
  6. Step 6: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining mixture and cheese.
  7. Step 7: Sprinkle crushed corn chips generously on top.
  8. Step 8: Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Step 9: Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
