- Start by cooking the edamame. If you’re using frozen edamame, simply boil them in salted water for about 5 minutes until tender. Drain and let them cool slightly before adding to the food processor.
- In a food processor, combine the cooked edamame, tahini paste, water, lemon zest, lemon juice, crushed garlic, and a pinch of kosher salt and pepper.
- Blend the mixture on high until it becomes a smooth paste. If it appears too thick, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste your edamame hummus and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed. Remember, the flavors will develop as it sits.
- Transfer your hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds for an added decorative touch.

- For a refreshing twist, add fresh herbs like mint or dill.
- If too thick, gradually add more water or olive oil.
- Freeze for up to 3 months in an airtight container for make-ahead convenience.
