Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare the Cod: Pat the cod filets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Step 2: Heat the Pan: In a large non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil or avocado oil over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the fish.
- Step 3: Cook the Cod: Carefully place the cod filets in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Gently flip the filets using a spatula.
- Step 4: Add the Garlic Butter: Once flipped, add the unsalted butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Allow the butter to melt and the garlic to sauté, stirring gently to coat the fish. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Step 5: Serve with Lemon: Transfer the Garlic Butter Cod to a serving plate and drizzle the garlic butter from the skillet over the top. Serve with fresh lemon wedges.
Notes
- Ensure cod filets are patted dry for a better sear.
- Try using different white fish like haddock or halibut as substitutes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
