Ingredients

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese (softened well, practically melted)
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Step 5: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the sour cream, lemon zest, and vanilla extract.
  6. Step 6: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Step 7: Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

  10. Step 10: For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and lemon juice until smooth.
