Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter (or a vegan alternative like coconut oil or vegan butter), melted
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for added texture and flavor
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder to give a savory kick
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder for depth of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika to add a hint of smokiness
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley for freshness
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) for a spicy touch
  • 1 teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce for umami flavor
  • 3 sleeves Ritz crackers as the base

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your crackers will bake evenly and become wonderfully crisp.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent sticking and make for easy cleanup.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter (or vegan alternative), sesame seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried parsley, red pepper flakes (if using), and low-sodium soy sauce. Mix everything together until well incorporated.
  4. Take the Ritz crackers and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Using a brush, generously coat the top of each cracker with the buttery seasoning mixture. Ensure each cracker is evenly covered for maximum flavor.
  5. Bake the crackers in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fragrant. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning!
  6. Once baked, remove the sheet from the oven and allow the crackers to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. This will help them crisp up even more. Enjoy them as is, or serve with your favorite dips!
