Instructions:
- Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This will help achieve a nice sear. Season both sides with salt and pepper, and sprinkle 4 teaspoons of flour over the top of each fillet, ensuring an even coating.
- In a large non-stick skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if applicable. Sear for about 4-5 minutes or until the salmon is golden brown and releases easily from the skillet.
- Flip the fillets gently using a spatula. In a small bowl, mix together 4 teaspoons of honey and lime zest. Brush this mixture over the salmon and allow it to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- In a separate saucepan, melt the 6 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Keep an eye on it as it melts; you want it to turn a golden brown color and develop a nutty aroma. Once browned, add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh lime juice and 1 teaspoon of honey.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle the browned butter lime sauce over the salmon fillets and garnish with additional lime zest if desired. Enjoy your meal with your favorite sides!
Notes
- Reduce honey for a lighter glaze if desired.
- Use grass-fed butter for a healthier fat option.
- Try substituting salmon with trout or tilapia for variety.
