Ingredients

For the Salmon:
  • 24 oz fresh salmon (4 portions, 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Parsley for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Non-stick skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Serving platter
  • Small bowl

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps to ensure a nice sear when cooking. Season both sides of the salmon with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, honey, and sesame oil until well combined. This glaze will provide a beautiful flavor and glossy finish to the salmon.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the skillet to get hot, which will help achieve a nice sear on the salmon.
  4. Once the skillet is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the skin is crispy and the fish is cooked about halfway through.
  5. Carefully flip the salmon fillets. Brush the honey glaze generously over the top of each fillet. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the salmon from the skillet and transfer it to a serving platter. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped parsley for a pop of color and added flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil or a dairy-free butter alternative.
  • Ensure the honey is pure and gluten-free if dietary restrictions apply.
  • Watch the cooking time closely to avoid overcooking the salmon.
