Start by measuring out 1 cup of quinoa. Pour it into a fine-mesh strainer and rinse it under cold running water for about 1-2 minutes.
Once rinsed, transfer the quinoa to your rice cooker. Add 2 cups of water or broth to the pot. If you’re using salt, sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon now.
Close the lid of the rice cooker and set it to the 'white rice' setting. If your rice cooker does not have this specific setting, just select the regular cook setting.
Allow the quinoa to cook. The rice cooker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' setting when the quinoa is done, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
Once the quinoa is cooked, open the lid and use a spoon or spatula to fluff the quinoa gently. Serve immediately or let it cool for meal prep.
