Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda until well combined.
- Add the cubed cold unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or a fork, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and dried parsley, mixing until evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, 2 tablespoons of water, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, adding more water if necessary.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead until it holds together, patting it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.
- Cut the dough into small squares or triangles, about 2 inches in size, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
