Start by lining an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper. This will make it easier to remove the brownies later.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of almond butter and 1/2 cup of maple syrup. Use a spatula or a wooden spoon to mix until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Next, add 2/3 cup of cocoa powder to the almond butter mixture. Stir until everything is evenly mixed and forms a thick batter-like consistency.
Transfer the brownie mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, pressing it down firmly to create a compact layer.
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the brownies to chill for at least 30 minutes to set.
Once the brownies are firm, remove them from the refrigerator. Spread 1 cup of chocolate frosting evenly over the top of the chilled brownies.
Using a sharp knife, cut the brownies into squares. Serve immediately, or return them to the fridge for a bit longer if you prefer a firmer texture.
