  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 large egg
For the Sweet Orange Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest for glaze
  • fresh orange juice enough to mix into glaze

Method
 

Steps:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  4. Step 4: In another mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Step 5: Add the egg, orange zest, and fresh orange juice to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
  6. Step 6: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and fold until just combined.
  7. Step 7: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Step 9: Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  10. Step 10: For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, orange zest, and fresh orange juice until smooth.
