Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your Orange Loaf bakes evenly.
- Step 2: Grease your loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray and dust it lightly with flour.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup of orange juice until well combined.
- Step 4: Mix in the grated orange zest until it’s evenly distributed throughout the wet mixture.
- Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Step 6: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Step 7: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Step 8: Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 9: Cool the loaf in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil for up to 3 days.
- Freeze slices individually for longer storage; thaw at room temperature.
- Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
