Ingredients
  

For the Brownies:
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter for brownie batter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder natural or Dutch-process
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large cold eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
For the Peanut Butter Frosting:
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Maldon or Fleur de Sel for topping

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
  3. Step 3: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the 10 tablespoons of butter. Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix.
  4. Step 4: Let the mixture cool slightly, then add the cold eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition.
  5. Step 5: Gently fold in the flour using a spatula.
  6. Step 6: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Step 7: For the frosting, in a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and peanut butter until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar.
  8. Step 8: Once the brownies are cool, lift them out of the pan and spread the peanut butter frosting over the top, sprinkling with Fleur de Sel.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
  • For an extra decadent treat, drizzle melted chocolate over the top before serving.
  • Let brownies cool completely before cutting into squares.
