Ingredients

For the Ramen Stir Fry:
  • 9 oz Ramen noodles (3 packages, chicken flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil
  • 1.5 cups onion (diced)
  • 2-3 cups fresh veggies (chopped, such as bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas)
  • 2 packets chicken flavor packets (from the ramen packages)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • cup teriyaki sauce (I used Mr. Yoshida's Gourmet)

Equipment

  • Large frying pan or wok
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Chopping board and knife

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Cook the Ramen Noodles - Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook them according to the package instructions, typically about 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat the Oil - In a large frying pan or wok, heat the olive oil or canola oil over medium-high heat. Allow it to warm up until it shimmers.
  3. Step 3: Sauté the Onions - Add the diced onions to the pan and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent and fragrant.
  4. Step 4: Add the Veggies - Toss in your chopped fresh veggies. Stir-fry for another 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp.
  5. Step 5: Mix the Sauces - In a small bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, granulated garlic, and cold water. Mix well until combined.
  6. Step 6: Combine Everything - Add the cooked ramen noodles to the pan, along with the chicken flavor packets. Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and veggies. Stir everything together, ensuring the noodles are well coated in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy! - Remove from heat and serve hot. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Don't overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming vegetables.
  • Use high heat for quick cooking and to maintain crunchiness.
  • Prep all ingredients beforehand to ensure a smooth cooking process.
