Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Marinate the Meat - Combine the olive oil, spices, salt, pepper, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Add the sliced meat to the bowl, ensuring every piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Vegetables - While the meat marinates, wash and chop your vegetables. Dice the tomatoes, shred the lettuce, slice the cucumbers, and thinly slice the red onion. Set them aside in separate bowls for easy assembly later.
  3. Step 3: Cook the Meat - Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated meat in batches, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. If you’re using chicken, ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Step 4: Assemble Your Shawarma - For plates, layer your cooked meat over a bed of rice or quinoa, and top with the diced vegetables. For wraps, fill your pita or flatbread with the meat, veggies, and a drizzle of sauce. For bowls, simply combine the meat and veggies over a base of rice or quinoa, and finish with your favorite sauce.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy - Plate your shawarma creations and serve with extra sauce on the side. Enjoy the burst of flavors and the satisfaction of a homemade meal!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the meat marinate overnight.
  • Mix and match your favorite vegetables for variety.
  • Consider adding fresh herbs for a burst of freshness.
