Thai Basil Chicken Recipe in Steps
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Sauce - In a small bowl, combine the oyster sauce, low sodium soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and a splash of water if needed. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat the Oil - In a wok or large skillet, heat the peanut oil or coconut oil over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking.
  3. Step 3: Cook the Chicken - Add the bite-sized pieces of chicken thighs to the hot oil. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  4. Step 4: Add Garlic and Chiles - Once the chicken is cooked, add the minced garlic and Thai bird chiles to the pan. Stir-fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Incorporate Vegetables - Add the chopped scallion whites, red bell pepper, and green beans to the wok. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Pour in the Sauce - Add the sauce you prepared earlier. Pour it over the chicken and vegetables, tossing everything to coat evenly.
  7. Step 7: Add Thai Basil - Fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves. Continue to stir for about a minute until the basil is wilted but still vibrant.
  8. Step 8: Serve and Enjoy - Your Thai Basil Chicken is ready to serve! Dish it up over jasmine rice or toss with noodles.
