Ingredients
  

  • 200 g white sugar
  • 1 large free-range egg
  • 140 g flour (aerated, scooped, and leveled)
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 50 g melted Lurpak butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda (bicarb)
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml cream
  • 100 g Lurpak salted butter
  • 90 g sugar (1/3 cup)
  • 100 g good quality dark chocolate (such as Lindt 70%)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls

  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • 9-inch baking dish
  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease your baking dish with a bit of melted Lurpak butter.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and white sugar until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg. Add the melted Lurpak butter, milk, and white vinegar, mixing well.
  5. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate using a double boiler or microwave, then fold it into the pudding batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Heat the cream and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  9. Serve warm, drizzled with the cream sauce.

Notes

  • For added texture, fold in chopped nuts like walnuts or hazelnuts.
  • Add peppermint extract for a refreshing twist.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
